Agilent Technologies has enhanced its installation and maintenance portfolio for service providers and enterprise network operators by adding new capabilities to its telephony network analyser software.
These capabilities are expected to significantly reduce the cost of testing voice quality on Voice-over-IP (VoIP) networks by providing non-intrusive Mean Opinion Scores (MOS) on live VoIP calls.
The new release is now the industry's first solution to offer non-intrusive voice quality testing calibrated to the ITU P.862 standard, PESQ.
The telephony network analyzer includes new measurement technology from Psytechnics, the inventors of PESQ (http://www.psytechnics.com), which allows users to make the most accurate measurements available on live VoIP calls.
The telephony network analyser is an Agilent network analyser solution that supports VoIP analysis and offers real-time VoIP application troubleshooting on LAN and WAN/ATM networks.
It automatically detects signaling errors and alerts the user as to the cause of the problem.
