AGILENT technologies has released their Integrated Circuit Characterization and Analysis Program (IC-CAP) 2004.
The IC-CAP modeling toolset is of use to modeling engineers, device designers and fabrication process engineers in the RF, digital, analog and microwave semiconductor industries. It helps them reduce design cycles, decrease manufacturing costs and speed time to market by enabling the development of highly accurate device models.
The plot optimiser in IC-CAP 2004 performs simultaneous optimization routines for an unlimited number of model parameters. IC-CAP 2004 incorporates the data display and optimization capabilities of Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS), making parameter extraction, optimization and documentation procedures more efficient.
IC-CAP 2004 offers a flexible software environment that uses IC-CAP Parameter Extraction Language (PEL) for data management, data display, custom user interface development and custom programming options. It includes internal simulation engines and links to the simulators in Agilent ADS, as well as to other simulators such as HSPICE and SPECTRE.
IC-CAP drives Agilent's fully configured modeling systems for device characterization and modeling. IC-CAP offers ready-to-use parameter extraction routines for many industry standard models. These models are also customizable to enhance accuracy for specific semiconductor processes.
Additional features of IC-CAP 2004 include new instrument drivers for many new dc parametric analyzers, impedance analysers and Agilent's new performance network analyzers, support for simultaneous dc-ac simulations with ADS simulators, direct support of the SPECTRE netlist syntax and many new PEL IC-CAP functions.
IC-CAP 2004 runs on the Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 platforms, as well as UNIX-based operating systems such as the HP-UX 11i and SunOS 5.7, 5.8 and 5.9.
