Austriamicrosystems’ Full Service Foundry business unit has unveiled the HIT-Kit design environment for complete mixed-signal RF design flows.
The HIT-Kit includes all necessary supplements to the Cadence and Agilent EDA tool environment to ensure a fast and reliable design on Austriamicro’s 0.35-micron BiCMOS process, which is tailored to RF applications in handheld devices up to 5GHz.
This BiCMOS process is fully compatible with the 0.35-micron CMOS baseline process, which Austriamicro licensed from TSMC last year, according to Austriamicrosystems Foundry Services director Rainer Holzhaider.
“The technology alliance between Cadence and Agilent is a breakthrough for RF IC design, representing the best available tool environment in the market,” Holzhaider said.
“The new HIT-Kit is the link between these EDA tools and our 0.35-micron BiCMOS RF process, allowing designers to achieve a massive reduction in time-to-market for complex mixed-signal RF circuits”.
The HIT-Kit supports both Agilent’s RFDE and Cadence’s Analog Design Environment.
