Agilent Technologies' LTE test solutions comply with March 2008 LTE Standard

The LTE test solutions available from Agilent Technologies are compliant with the March 2008 release of the 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard included in 3GPP v8.2.0.

The LTE test solutions for design validation, verification and receiver test, signal analysis and prototype production support the March 2008 LTE standard release.

Agilent Technologies will continue to update these LTE test solutions to accommodate future LTE standard releases. Featuring a combination of flexible measurements, better measurement speed and high performance, these LTE test solutions are designed to speed LTE design for next-generation mobile communications products.

While official ratification of the LTE standard is expected in December 2008, Agilent Technologies have been shipping LTE test equipment since 2006.

The March 2008 LTE standard-compliant LTE test solutions include the following:

  • 89600 VSA Software
  • N9080A LTE measurement application
  • E8895 3GPP LTE Wireless Library
  • N7624B Signal Studio for 3GPP LTE
  • 89600 VSA Software with LTE Option (89601A-BHD)

The 89600 vector signal analysis (VSA) software with LTE modulation analysis provides RF and baseband engineers with a comprehensive set of LTE signal analysis tools, based on the latest 3GPP TS 36 series standard, for LTE physical layer testing and troubleshooting of LTE transceivers and components.

It can be used with more than 30 Agilent Technologies’ products to implement LTE measurements anywhere in the block diagram, from baseband to antenna, on digitised or analogue signals, using spectrum and signal analysers, oscilloscopes and logic analysers.

The 89600 VSA supports the March 2008 LTE standard, Tx diversity MIMO analysis, full support for various uplink and downlink channels and signals, enhanced uplink auto detection, and a graphical user interface for manual user allocation.

N9080A LTE measurement application

The N9080A LTE measurement application for the X-Series signal analysers brings physical layer testing of uplink and downlink LTE signals to the test rack. It provides a comprehensive embedded solution with hardkey/softkey and SCPI programming user interface.

When coupled with the speed of X-Series analysers, it delivers high speed LTE measurements in the market, making it well-suited for use in automated testing during design validation and prototype production.

E8895 3GPP LTE wireless library

The E8895 3GPP LTE wireless library provides signal processing models and preconfigured simulation setups for the ADS software. It enables designers to create spectrally correct test waveforms that comply with the March 2008 LTE standard.

These waveforms can be used to conduct receiver test and measure the EVM, PAPR, CCDF and ACLR performance of 3GPP LTE system RF components. The E8895 3GPP LTE wireless library currently supports 36.211 v8.3.0 of the LTE standard, providing support for fully coded FDD and TDD uplink/downlink, as well as MIMO in the downlink. This release is available in ADS 2008UR1.

N7624B signal studio for 3GPP LTE

The N7624B signal studio for 3GPP LTE is a powerful, PC-based software for creating standards-based LTE signals using N5182A/62A MXG and E4438C ESG vector signal generators, and 16800/16900 logic analysers.

It provides the flexible functionality, which the engineers require to verify the performance of LTE user equipment and base station components or receivers. The N7624B signal studio enables the configuration of transport layer coding, standard-based (HARQ process-based) LTE signals for early receiver test using BLER, and physical layer coding, standard-based LTE signals to verify RF performance (uplink/downlink).

The N7624B signal studio complies with March 2008 LTE standard for PRACH, sounding reference signal and PUCCH coding for the uplink, and PHICH and PCFICH for the downlink.
