SATA Test Solution
SATA Test Solution

Agilent Technologies  has announced that SATA-IO has certified the Agilent SATA total test solution, which is used by Allion Test Labs. The test platform includes a transmitter, receiver and test automatic software platform.

The Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) develops, manages and drives adoption of the Serial ATA specifications. The SATA interface is the industry-standard application used to manage data transmission between system board and storage device on personal computers, laptops or server systems. SATA Gen 3 can drive speeds up to 6 Gbps.

Allion Test Labs provides certification, interoperability, performance and compatibility testing for companies worldwide. Because of its extensive testing capabilities in a wide range of industries and its sophisticated test methodology, Allion is on the cutting edge of technology advancements. For more than 18 years, Allion has been the industry-leading company in product quality control.

"We are excited to partner with Agilent for our testing needs because Agilent is recognized for technical leadership in standards bodies and compliance programs," said James Ou, technical director at Allion Test Labs - Taiwan headquarters. "We understand the importance of having the most accurate and innovative test equipment available. We selected Agilent test equipment for our facilities because of its industry-leading automation, ease of use and compatible application framework."

"Having advance access to measurements enables developers of cutting-edge solutions to address potential design issues early in the design cycle and get products to market faster," said Bryan Kantack, program manager SATA applications at Agilent. "Agilent offers a full range of SATA test capabilities and performance in presenting industry-leading serial data generation and analysis test capabilities to accelerate SATA 3 Gpbs and 6 Gpbs tests. We are very excited to continue our partnership with Allion Test Labs on this development."

Agilent's equipment for SATA test includes the DSA91304A Infiniium oscilloscope, the 81134A Pulse Pattern Generator, J-BERT N4903A/B high-performance serial BERT and the N5990A test automation software platform from Agilent's partner BitifEye Digital Test Solutions.
