Agilent & SoftWIRE combine .NET control capabilities

Supplier News

SoftWIRE Technology has agreed to integrate the Agilent T&M Toolkit into its graphical programming interface, allowing users to control T&M instruments via Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.

The Agilent T&M Programmers Toolkit version 1.1 is an open standard software development suite that supports both Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. The Toolkit extends the .NET platform with integrated software tools and components designed to communicate with, and configure, acquire, analyse and display data from test instruments and test systems.

Likewise, SoftWIRE is an open-standard graphical programming interface for .NET 2003 that enables engineers to create managed code applications without writing complicated textual code. With SoftWIRE's intuitive graphical programming environment, engineers construct graphical programs using icons that represent Microsoft Visual Studio .NET components, connected by wire components, to quickly and simply create and execute a program.

"The reseller agreement with SoftWIRE Technology extends the reach of the Agilent T&M Programmers Toolkit to SoftWIRE's broad programmer market, as well as provides our customers additional Visual Studio .NET tools and capabilities," says Mark Pierpoint, general manager of Agilent's Measurement and Analysis, Systems and Technologies Division. "Agilent remains committed to providing its customers with a choice of programming tools, and the introduction of this new SoftWIRE and T&M Toolkit package gives our customers a powerful new instrument and system control programming option."

The combined new software tools are expected to be sold by SoftWIRE beginning in July 2003. Additional information on the T&M Toolkit is available at www.agilent.com/find/toolkit.
