AGFA has announced that the PC version of its popular image enhancement software :IntelliTune will be available in the second quarter of 2006.
Agfa also announced Version 3.5 for Mac users, which features many additions including selective colour correction and variable frequency detail improvement, will be available in November 2005.
:IntelliTune, which allows users to efficiently correct the volumes of images they use in their publications everyday, features a user-friendly, icon-based interface.
:IntelliTune's Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology automatically perfects the tone, colour and spatial characteristics in every image by automatically calculating and applying the necessary corrections for the best reproduction possible.
":IntelliTune fits perfectly into Agfa's larger strategy of helping newspapers around the world meet the quality demands of advertisers and readers," said Emma Isichei, director of Agfa's newspaper business worldwide.
"When newspapers combine the extraordinary imaging capabilities of :IntelliTune with Agfa's advanced screening solution, :Sublima, and :Afirma process control, the results can be astounding."
Among the enhancements to :IntelliTune in version 3.5 are:
* Selective colour correction, with automatic colour correction over and above ICC profile, resulting in more attractive colours for eye-catching advertising.
* Protect colours in USM (Unsharp Mask), giving users the ability to select colours where no detail improvements are required
* VF Variable Frequency detail improvement allows even the smallest image details to be enhanced
:IntelliTune's PDF processing option enables script-based processing of RGB, CMYK and Grayscale PDF files. Embedded ICC Profiles can be used, ignored or overwritten. :IntelliTune also supports JPEG, JPEG encoded EPS, TIFF, EPS, PICT, PSD, BMP, and DCS 2.0 single file formats.
