Continuing its commitment to develop the most advanced solid-state power controllers (SSPCs) on the market, Leach International has released three new models of multi-channel, next-generation programmable SSPCs for use in compact, microprocessor-controlled secondary power distribution units (SPDUs). These models are available from Aerospace and Defence Products .
Designed for operation in 28Vdc systems, the EPM-109, EPM-110 and EPM-111 series SSPCs, provide the latest micro-controller and Power FET technology incorporated into a printed circuit board (PCB).
The SSPCs feature non-derated switching for all types of load while protecting against overload and short circuit. In addition, each includes an extensive built-in-test (BIT) feature that verifies all critical functions at start-up and then continuously throughout operation. These fast acting, high-reliability units also include a serial data bus interface, programmable ratings and trip parameters, low voltage drop and power dissipation, and high voltage isolation.
The EPM-109 series is a five-channel SSPC with three channels programmable up to 7.5 Amps at 85°C and two channels programmable up to 12 Amps at 85°C, while the EPM-110 series provides two channels programmable up to 40 Amps at 85°C. Both models have no de-rating for lamp, motor and inductive loads. The EMP-111 series offers two channels programmable up to 60 Amps at 85°C.
