ADVANTECH has released a 5.25" SBC aimed at fulfilling the needs of embedded applications requiring high performance multimedia and data processing.
Utilising an Intel Pentium 4 processor and Intel 845GV chipset, the PCM-9580 gives embedded developers the power to drive the most dynamic applications, suitable for high end POS, gaming and kiosk applications where performance is key.
Providing support for Intel Socket 478 Celeron/Pentium 4 processors up to 3.06GHz and higher with FSB of 533MHz/400MHz and 256/512KB L2 cache, the Intel 845GV chipset delivers good system responsiveness and performance by providing maximum bandwidth for I/O-intensive applications.
Two 184-pin DIMM sockets support SDRAM DDR 200/266 for up to 2GB total memory, giving customers scalable performance options. The 845GV delivers good graphics support with integrated Intel Extreme Graphics, delivering sharp 2D and 3D graphics, fast rendering and good detail.
The 845GV architecture operates with the Pentium 4 processor, enabling balanced memory usage between graphics and the system for optimal performance.
With the 845GV and the onboard Chrontel CH7017 chip, the PCM-9580 provides a two channel (2 x 24 bit) LVDS interface that supports 18/24/36/48 LVDS panels as well as TV-out (NTSC/PAL, S-Video and Composite video).
CRT support for 1600 x 1200 x 32bpp at 85Hz is also provided. The PCM-9580 was made for embedded applications needing support for video, images and gaming needs.
The PCM-9580 offers a strong function set highlighted by four USB 1.1/2.0 host ports. The USB 2.0 host ports support embedded USB Type 1 Flash memory. Support for one CompactFlash card Type I/II is provided as is a PCI expansion slot.
The system offers ICH4 support for AC'97 2.0 compliance with optional support for line-in, line-out, MIC, CD audio in, line out, speaker out.
Ethernet is available using the Intel 82551QM chip for 100 Base-T speed or the Intel 82540EM chip for 1000 Base-T Gigabit Ethernet.
