Pentium III processor triple Ethernet SBC
ADVANTECH has introduced a new Socket 370 SBC designed for various network application duties.
With the ability to accept Pentium III / Celeron processors up to 850MHz, supply two, three or four 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports and offer flexible features (e.g. optional VGA/LCD interface) that match application needs, the PCM-9576 is suitable for any network environment.
The PCM-9576 can be used as a dual Ethernet firewall device, triple Ethernet firewall/DMZ device or through its PCI expansion slot, a four Ethernet port device that allows centralised management of a secure virtual network, including firewall security and VPN's or a PCI add-on card for encryption acceleration.
Applied in a stand-alone chassis that is also supplied by Advantech, the PCM-9576 has the processing power and reliability to handle mission critical, high-availability applications.
The PCM-9576 is a powerful, compact and full featured (5.75" x 8") SBC that can be used in many embedded applications.
The VGA/LCD controller is optional, saving on cost. VGA/LCD is unnecessary for many network applications. With the available COM port, administrators can connect a PC (console) for configuration. If VGA/LCD support is required, a SMI Lnyx 721 (or 712) controller is available.
Ethernet capability is scalable, providing flexibility. Dual or triple Intel 10/100 Mbps 82559ER controllers can be ordered. A PCI slot for off-the-shelf PCI add-on cards or PCI Ethernet is also available. An onboard PC/104 connector offers flexible ISA expansion, and three general-purpose input/output (GPIO) controls is also available.
The Socket 370 for Intel Celeron / Pentium III processors, Intel 440BX system chipset, Award 256KB Flash memory and two SODIMM sockets that can accept up to 512MB offer good performance.
The PCM-9576 supports two serial RS232 ports (additional COM3, COM4 optional), one parallel port with SPP/EPP/ECP mode support, up to two FDDs and up to two EIDE devices with BIOS auto-detect, PIO Mode 3 or Mode 4, UDMA/33 transfer.
There are two USB ports, 63 level Watchdog timer support, APM 1.2 that supports normal/standby/suspend modes and one socket for a CompactFlash card. The optional VGA/LCD interface is supported by an SMI Lynx 721 chipset with 4MB or 8MB on chip.
A 2x AGP interface and 128 bit engine supports flat panel displays up to 800 x 600 at 24bpp, 1024 x 768 at 24bpp, CRT monitors up to 1024 x 768 at 24bpp, 1280 x 1024 at 24bpp. Dual display 18/24 bit TFT LCD, or CRT and LCD display under Windows 98 / 2000.
Additional hardware support and technical advice is also available.
