ADVANTECH Network Computing Group has announced the launch of its MIC-3358 cPCI 6U CPU board.
The MIC-3358 is a CompactPCI CPU board compliant with the PICMG 2.16 specification (Packet Switching Backplane Specification), delivering an advanced telephony platform for applications that demand low power and high performance.
It is a suitable platform for switch-fabric blade servers and mission-critical computing intensive applications like third-generation (3G) wireless, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), networking, image processing and converged data and voice communication applications.
The new MIC-3358 has been optimised for the Intel Pentium 4 processor-M and Intel 845E chipset. It represents the next-step in advanced cPCI platforms, delivering high performance across the 400MHz system bus and dual DDR memory channels with max 2GB DDR 200/266 memory on-board.
It also provides 512kB of on-die L2 Cache, and dual Gigabit Ethernet.
The MIC-3358 architecture can satisfy customer's requirements for the latest CPUs and I/O. The MIC-3358 is a high performance, compact form factor, low power solution, especially for communications customers who require high performance in CompactPCI form factor.
