ADVANTECH has launched POC-123; a mobile medical-grade Point-Of-Care terminal for medical practitioners. With a battery pack and 802.11b wireless antenna, the POC-123 is a mobile Point-Of-Care Terminal that can be moved between patient's rooms and even be used in an ambulance.
The fanless and compact design with a 12" TFT color LCD touch screen is silent and non-disruptive, so as to be suitable for hospital environments. The fanless design also eliminates dust problems, so a hygienic environment can be maintained.
With UL2601-1/EN60601-1 approval, the POC-123 offers medical-grade reliability, minimum interference with other electronic devices and meets the primary safety standards for the United States and Europe.
The terminal can be used in imaging applications such as intra-oral, endoscopy and ultrasound scanners for acquisition, processing and display. Bedside devices such as infusion pumps, ventilators, ECGs and EEGs can link with the POC-123 so that vital patient information can be transferred to a central server in real time. This allows nursing stations to centrally monitor vital patient information as well as allow for record keeping and data storage.
For system integrators, the POC-123 offers full-featured I/O and expansion slot CompactFlash capabilities and can be integrated into most proprietary systems. There are four serial ports, one parallel port, and two USB ports as well as one CompactFlash slot.
Keyboard, mouse and audio equipment can also be connected. POC-123 offers a robust IPX1 approved design that resists spills and water damage with a protected LCD, sealed ports and card slots.
