ADVANTECH has announced the MIC-3041, 4U Compact PCI platform, a 4U-high enclosure with six 6U Compact PCI slots for rack mounting, designed for mission critical and high reliability applications such as high demand networking, telecommunication, computer telephony integration, image processing and industrial automation.
The MIC-3041 accommodates six 6U Compact PCI CPU boards, in addition, the modular design CPU board is hot-swappable from the front allowing efficient installation, maintenance and upgrade, which meets high density and space efficiency requirements.
The platform is equipped with redundant power supply and hot swappable fan module to minimise MTTR (Mean Time to Repair). The MIC-3041 supports IEEE 1101.11 rear I/O transition boards.
The 4U built-in high quality backplane with H.110, 64 bit/66MHz bus speed offers best impedance control and full range compatibility. The default H.110 bus complies with PICMG 2.5, which is the open standard architecture to build telecom solutions or as a suitable development platform.
Users can route I/O signals to the rear transition boards for simplified system cabling. Front boards pop in and out without any hardwiring.
The MIC-3041 has built-in two hot-swappable SCSI HDD bays or removable 3.5" IDE HDD bays as standard. One slim-type FDD and slim CD-ROM provide users more flexibility for storage media demands.
The MIC-3041 meets all Compact PCI open architecture standards and is compatible with all Advantech Compact PCI boards, in addition to numerous other Compact PCI boards from other manufacturers.
Six Compact PCI slots are available for the system master and Compact PCI peripheral boards. To enhance the enclosures thermal solution, a non-blocked ventilation design with suck-in (left) and out (rear) hot-swappable fans provides optimum system cooling efficiency and high fault tolerant capability.
The system is available with an optional Chassis Management Module (MIC-3924B). This is an OS independent hardware module that ensures system stability and real-time status.
The Chassis Management Module is an intelligent SNMP/HTTP system management module. It can detect chassis temperature and fan speed. The built-in Web-based administration interface allows users to easily monitor and manage remote servers through Internet or phone line connection using a web browser or SNMP-based software.
Notification can be also delivered by warning LED and beep tones. It can generate several different alarm outputs, including SNMP trap, e-mail or pager message to notify a remote user about any abnormal condition. Thus, users can take necessary action to prevent a system failure.
