Advantech releases new single board computer
Advantech has released new EBX SBC (single board computer).
Targeted at system integrators who want a modular solution with exceptional 2D/3D graphics performance and high data throughput, PCM-9590 with Intel Core 2 duo processor represents a major step up in performance within the EBX series.
Packed with two SATA II bus connectors, multiple I/O features as well as flexible AT/ATX power input, PCM-9590 is ideal for a wide-range of embedded applications including digital surveillance, automation, security and gaming.
Powerful CPU performance:
Advantech EBX form factor SBC are compact (8.00" x 5.75 " inches (203 x 146mm L x W)) embedded platforms that provide a full set of I/O features and connectivity.
PCM-9590 SBC with Intel Core 2 Duo and 945GM chipset can support up to 4 GB of DDR2 SODIMM memory.
With Intel graphic media accelerator (GMA) 950 chipset, the board also offers exceptional 3D graphic rendering and enhanced visual quality, perfect for the gaming market.
PCM-9590 also comes with a core duo ULV U2500 1.2 GHz CPU, offering customers an alternative choice for fanless solutions.
Rich I/O features:
PCM-9590 is packed with numerous I/O features that include 2 SATA II interface, dual gigabit Ethernet, dual display (combinations: CRT + 36-bit LVDS, TV-Out + 36-bit LVDS, TV-Out + CRT), 7.1 Channel HD Audio, 6 x USB 2.0 and 4 x COM’s.
For expansion there is one PCI-Express x16, one PCI-104 connector and one mini-PCI slot allowing optional modules to be added on. The two onboard SATA II bus connectors offer a significant performance improvement of up to 3 GBit/s over the older (soon to be phased out) IDE interface.
Advantech SUSI utility:
PCM-9590 was specially developed for Windows embedded XPe. To help customers integrate their own applications, Advantech’s SUSI API library provides access to functions such as Watchdog, GPIO, SMBus, etc. SUSI consists of a set of unified drivers and API that can help speed up the hardware/software integration process.
