Advansus introduces Intel iQ965-IGM Motherboard

Advansus, a joint-venture company of ASUS and Advantech, has introduced iQ965-IGM MicroATX motherboard, powered by Intel Q965 Express chipset and Intel Core 2 Duo processor up to 1066 MHz.

Accommodating up to 8 GB of Dual Channel DDR2 800 SDRAM, iQ965-IGM offers a powerful platform to system developers.

It deploys a more responsive, high-performance and low-power system, which is ideal for highly interactive gaming, KIOSK, point of service, industrial control and automation, digital security surveillance, as well as medical imaging applications.

Superior graphics and memory:

The Intel Q965 Express chipset is designed to optimise support for Intel Core 2 processors, empowering i965Q-IGM to fulfil many demanding graphics requirements for gaming applications.

The iQ965-IGM makes the maximum of the FMA (Fast Memory Access) feature built into the Q965 chipset; FMA helps to improve system performance, automatically optimizing available memory bandwidths, thus reducing the latency of memory access.

The iQ965-IGM applies Intel graphics media accelerator 3000 (GMA 3000) technology that supports DirectX 9.0c, Pixel Shader 2.0, 256 MB of video memory, and dual independent display through ADD2 and MEC cards.

The GMA 3000 feature improves game-play performance, enables greater realism, and offers easier access, greater stability, lower power consumption, and supplies a more cost effective solution.

High-speed expansion and connections:

One onboard PCI Express x16 slot supports the new high-performance graphics cards with a bus bandwidth 4 times higher than a regular AGP 8X interface.

One PCI Express x4 bus also outperforms the standard PCI interface with its exceptionally high bandwidth up to 2.0 GB/s.

Other high-speed features include six Serial ATA connectors (300MB/s) for high-speed hard disk drives, eight USB 2.0 ports for 480 Mbps data transfer fate, one PCI Express-based 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, and 8-channel high definition audio.

A ready platform for embedded systems:

Dual-core processing is the new innovation in microprocessor technology.

The Intel Q965 Express chipset supports key requirements for many embedded computing designs, including memory performance, graphics, manageability, responsiveness, noise reduction and data protection.

Combining all the good features of Intel Q965 chipset and Core2 processor, the iQ965-IGM motherboard opens a whole new horizon for serious system players: now it is possible to achieve a new competitive strength to stay on top of business.
