ADVANTECH has announced its latest series of 3.5-inch embedded SBCs featuring Intel Pentium M/Celeron M processors. These are designed with fanless CPUs that combine power consumption and excellent heat dissipation.
The boards' CPUs can be easily expanded from Celeron-M 600GHz to Pentium-M 1.8GHz, without changing or re-designing the chassis.
The low thermal operating features are ideal for applications requiring low-power consumption and fanless, noiseless operation. The PCM-9380 series includes four SBCs, two use PC/104-Plus bus interface and two use Advantech's new module I/O (MIO) interface.
The PCM-9380 and PCM-9386 are based on low power Intel Pentium M/Celeron M processors and use Intel's 855GME and 852GM chipsets. The 852GM chipset is designed for Intel's Celeron processor and delivers 400MHz front side bus speed and an optimised integrated graphics solution with a 32-bit 3D core.
Both SBCs use the Advantech designed open-pin definition MIO bus signal interface. Designed to be simple and versatile, it integrates the most popular bus signals together into a high-density 160-pin connector.
These bus signals include PCI, high-speed USB 2.0, digitalvideo output (DVO), low pin count (LPC), and AC97 audio. PCM-9380 and PCM-9386 support DDR memory up to 1GB with error correcting code (ECC) for improved reliability and data integrity.
Other onboard features include dual independent displays and 1000Base-T Ethernet for gigabit networking.
PCM-9381 and PCM-9387 are also based on the powerful low power Intel Pentium M/Celeron M processors and use Intel's 855GME and 852GM chipsets respectively.
Both of these SBCs however, use PC/104-Plus bus signal interfaces that combine ISA and 32-bit PCI interconnect signals. The connector "coastline" stays consistent and aligns perfectly with other add-on PC/104 modules, which helps system integrators save time and effort on designing new chassis or housings.
