Advancing Food Safety (AFS) now offers a Diploma in Food Industry Quality Assurance Management.
Many staffs are promoted to Quality Assurance positions without prior experience in management or QA roles. The Diploma in Food Industry Quality Assurance Management is designed to provide with the skills and knowledge to confidently and successfully be a QA Manager.
The qualification is issued following the successful completion of the prerequisites listed below. It is the only qualification of its type currently offered in Australia.
To complete the diploma, one must have completed the following courses, either with AFS or through a registered training organisation (RTO) in the last four years. If courses have not been done with AFS, one must provide certificate evidence showing the competencies issued by the other RTO.
Principles & applications of HACCP, 2 or 3 day course
Internal or external food safety auditor course
How to conduct a recall course
Food safety QA management course (AFS only)
Advanced QA management course (AFS only)
All of the prerequisite courses are short courses and combined will be approximately 10 - 15 days of intensive training. It can be achieved within a 6 month period. Courses are offered across Australia.
The qualification is equivalent to a Diploma issued through the competency based training framework. AFS is a Registered Training Organisation and is registered by VETAB to provide national qualifications from the Food Processing Training Package.
