The Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface (HAPI) from Adtec Communications solves the problem of how to connect an analogue device, such as a conference phone, to a digital PABX or Commander system. Actually, any two wire analogue device may be connected to any handset with this simple device.
By taking the analogue output of the digital phone handset (via the curly cord socket) and modifying the characteristics of the signal, Adtec have been able to create a device capable of solving two wire analogue communications needs.
Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface allows normal phone operation when the connected analogue device is not in use. This means the Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface and connecting device may be left set up, cutting down on cumbersome set up procedures.
The Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface is very portable. It may be taken from room to room and set up quickly using simple dip switches. The Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface has a sophisticated analogue hybrid which allows the conversion between four and two wire inputs / outputs.
When the two wire port of the Hybrid Adaptor Phone Interface is in use the digital telephone handset is internally disconnected to reduce disruptive room noise.
