Richard Hannaford, Sales Manager, Adtec Communications , considers himself lucky to be involved in this area of activity at a time when so much change is happening. Telecommunications and IT have historically been separated with computers seen as data processors and telephones, strictly a part of communication. However, with the advent of providers such as Skype and with the evolution of mobile phones providing Internet access, the line between the two is fading fast.
Richard has been with Adtec Communications for 9 years. Prior to joining Adtec, Richard held various roles in sales and marketing management in the healthcare industry. Currently, Richard is responsible for the Polycom range of communication products. According to Richard, Telepresence (a sophisticated video conferencing system that eliminates the barriers of distance to allow groups to sit across the table from each other regardless of where they are located) is proving of particular interest to customers because it helps them to reduce their costs by eliminating the need for travel.
