JDSU named 2007 Global Communications Test and Measurement Company of the Year

JDSU  has announced that it has received the 2007 Global Communications Test and Measurement Company of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company. JDSU earned the award based on product innovation, market-driven test solutions and exceptional customer service supporting the efficient, reliable deployment of broadband networks and services worldwide.

JDSU will accept the Global Communications Test and Measurement Company of the Year Award on April 25 at the Frost & Sullivan 2007 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Awards Banquet. It is the latest in a number of recent distinctions recognising JDSU’s test and measurement excellence, including industry awards for its innovative IPTV and VoIP test product portfolios.

Frost & Sullivan’s Company of the Year Award is based on several criteria, including business development strategy and success, competitive strategy and leadership in a particular industry. The evaluation includes a focus on management strength, market share growth, and positive economic impact a company has had on local and national communities and customers.

According to Frost & Sullivan, JDSU set itself apart in 2006 with a number of outstanding achievements, including:

· Broadband test innovation: The introduction of more than 25 new products and major product enhancements across its Lab and Production, Field Service and Service Assurance portfolios, addressing every stage of broadband network and service deployment and including major advancements in fibre optic, Ethernet, 40 Gbps and IP-based services test.

· Customer focus: JDSU enjoys strong relationships with the world’s leading communications service providers and network equipment manufacturers, established by good sales and service organisation with a deep understanding of their critical test requirements: solutions that accelerate the deployment of broadband networks and service and ensure high-quality performance.

· Growth: JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement Division built on its leading market position in 2006, recording double-digit revenue growth for the year and expanding its position as one of the leading providers of test solutions to telecommunications and cable network operators.

· M&A Strategy: JDSU announced two strategic acquisitions in 2006, expanding its ability to provide test solutions for any service at any point in the network. The acquisition of Test-Um established JDSU as a leading provider of home networking test solutions. JDSU’s acquisition of Casabyte builds on its service assurance capabilities for mobile networks.

“Frost & Sullivan is delighted to recognise JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement Division. It is well-deserved recognition for outpacing all other candidates in the communications test industry,” said Jessy Cavazos, Test and Measurement Industry Manager for Frost & Sullivan. “This was a record year in which our analysts covered more test companies and hours of research than in any previous year. Based on our award criteria, JDSU clearly stood apart.”

“We are proud of this recognition,” said John Peeler, president of JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement Division. “This distinction strongly underscores the performance of our innovative test solutions to effectively address the complexities of broadband network and service deployment and serves as a testament to the commitment and skill of our employees.”
