ACRODYNE now provides a range of valve interlocks using the trapped key principal, manufactured by Netherlocks.
The use of valve interlock systems provides a solution to create a safe working environment, preventing dangerous situations by controlling a sequence of events.
The operator is forced to follow a written procedure by means of mechanical key transfer. Interlocking makes complicated and potentially dangerous procedures safe and simple by guaranteeing a predetermined sequence. The procedure is non-supervised and human-error is excluded.
Applications of valve interlocks include: isolation of PSV's; pig launchers/receivers; piston/vane pumps; reactor switch-over systems; fuel loading systems, batch processes, powerplant cooling systems; boiler blow-down systems; and furnace switch-over systems.
Netherlocks’ valve interlocks are designed to operate gate, globe, ball, plug and butterfly valves as well as other lever operated valves and gearbox operated valves.
All lock components are made of 316 stainless steel, are maintenance free and are easily mounted to valves without modification. Valve interlocks are TUV tested and certified to withstand adverse environmental factors including sand, dirt, ice, submersion and heat.
