New safety software solution automates partial stroke testing on Limitorque MX actuator

Supplier News
According to Limitorque (USA), a major oil company has standardised its partial stroke safety testing on a Limitorque solution.

The software prevents the partial stroke signal from interfering with an emergency shutdown signal to the same emergency block valve during a hazardous event. The momentary contact emergency shutdown (ESD) software in conjunction with a partial stroke event has been extensively factory and field tested.

Originally a custom application, the software is now available as an optional feature on the Limitorque MX actuators.

Earnest Carey Jr., product manager for Limitorque explains that the Limitorque MX upgrade enables partial stroke testing to be an automated function with immeasurable safety benefits, allowing the Limitorque MX actuator to be safely installed in very rigorous, demanding and hazardous applications.

Limitorque actuators are stocked and supported in Australia by Acrodyne .
