Acrodyne’s new Noah SR-30 now joins the SR-05 and SR-10 models in the range featuring torques from 50Nm to 300Nm. Noah spring return electric actuators find wide application in various process automation environments, and emergency situations such as dangerous leaks, burst pipelines and unexpected power outages.
Noah SR-30 fail-safe electric actuators feature a spiral wound spring mechanically coupled to the actuator output drive shaft on the same axis and enclosed in a housing integral with the main housing. In the power-on mode, the motor drives the actuator output shaft, simultaneously loading the spring in the same direction till end of travel.
An electro-magnetic brake locks the output shaft and prevents the spring from releasing its energy. On loss of power the brake is released and the spring drives the actuator in the opposite direction. The spring is preset for ‘normally open’ or ‘normally closed’ position of valve.
Standard features of Noah SR-30 fail-safe electric actuators include sturdy O ring sealed to IP67, hardened alloy steel worm shaft and alu-bronze worm quadrant, limit and torque switches for end of travel, manual override hand wheel and anti-condensation heater, customised removable drive nut, ISO 5211 mounting base and power supply of 415 3-phase/ 240VAC / 110 V AC 1-phase and 24 V DC.
Options include 4 to 20 mA DC positioner and transmitter; auxiliary limit and torque switches with dry contacts for DCS interface; local control station and integral control reversing contactors, and IP 68 enclosure.
