Earlier this year, Western Milling’s weighbridge at Port Adelaide needed a replacement Phillips PR 6201 loadcell to maintain weighing operations.
Unfortunately, this model of loadcell is now hard to get and is considerably more expensive that current design weighbridge loadcells.
Accuweigh ’s Adelaide branch came to the rescue with Dennis Seipmann offering the client a conversion kit to allow the new design Flintec RC3 loadcells to be used.
No major structural changes were required as the Flintec loadcells are near identical to the Phillips loadcells fitted to the weighbridge which was then re-certified for trade use using the new Flintec stainless steel loadcells.
No matter how old a weighbridge is, as long as it is structurally sound, it can be updated with the new available weighing technology to considerably extend its working life.
Flintec loadcells are designed to meet stringent accuracy requirements.
Certifications have been obtained from Weights & Measures Authorities, worldwide and are available in the capacities 7.5t to 50t. They offer total stainless steel construction and complete IP68 hermetic sealing, making them suitable for use in tough industrial environments.
The loadcell design, in combination with a low cost self aligning rocker assembly, unites good load introduction with a low profile outline.
The Flintec calibration technique (in mV/V/_) eliminates time consuming corner calibration in multiple loadcell systems. RC3 models are available for use in hazardous areas zone 1, 2 (gas) and 21, 22 (dust).
