Accuweigh recently re-located truck axle scales for a Port Macquarie-based transport company.
Manufactured by Ultrahawke, the truck axle scales were re-located to Grafton for Jim Pearson Transport. Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch removed the truck axle scales from their previous location in Grafton, New South Wales.
Truck axle scales are used to ensure that truck axle loadings are within legal loading limits to eliminate potential overloading penalties.
Measuring 4m x 3m with a weighing capacity of 30 tonnes, the truck axle scales use a Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicator to generate the weight readings.
Additionally, a Rinstrum D740 large-digit remote display is positioned away from the axle weighbridge to allow truck drivers and forklift drivers to view the axle weight readings.
The re-installation of the truck axle scales at the new location was executed smoothly using foundation drawings obtained from Ultrahawke in Melbourne.
The load cell mounting pads were bolted into position and after fitting the load cells, the truck axle scales deck was lowered into place. The truck axle scales were subsequently tested and calibrated to ensure high weighing accuracy.
