Accuweigh ’s Perth branch recently supplied a steel deck weighbridge to a paper recycling company in Western Australia. As the client may be relocating to larger premises in the near future, a steel deck weighbridge was the ideal solution to cater for their current weighing needs, and one that can be cost effectively relocated at a later stage.
The steel deck weighbridge is used for weighing trucks that bring paper to the collection centre and then for weighing out-going semi-trailers carrying shipping containers of bundled paper. The Accuweigh 5000 digital weight indicator generates weight readings from the six heavy duty weighbridge load cells.
The steel deck weighbridge has a modular construction that utilises individual six metre long sections bolted together, measuring a total of 18 metres long by 3 metres wide. To ensure increased strength with minimal flexing of the weighbridge deck, the cross members used to join adjacent decks are load bearing points that contain the load cells and mounting hardware.
This allows for a lower profile weighbridge deck which can also help to save on civils requirements of the weighbridge foundations and vehicle access ramps.
More information on the range of steel deck weighbridges is available from Accuweigh.
