Accuweigh  have supplied metal detection equipment to a speciality snack food manufacturer based in Dandenong. The metal detection equipment inspects coated fruits and nuts which are packed into 10kg cartons and 20kg bags for selling nationally through supermarkets.

The metal detection equipment is manufactured in full stainless steel with both audible alarm and conveyor stop on detection of contaminates. A custom engineered 2m long conveyor with a 400mm wide modular belt will be used to deliver product to the metal detection scanning head.

Metal detection equipment is now almost a mandatory requirement for all areas of food production to ensure raw ingredients do not contain contaminates. Metal detection equipment is also used to ensure that mechanical failure of equipment in the production line does not cause contamination issues in the finished products.

Accuweigh’s latest generation metal detction equipment has multi-frequency scanning ability which allows for higher sensitivity levels for detecting contaminates over a multitude of products in various pack sizes and configurations.
