Drop through metal detectors from Accuweigh are in operation at Penrice Soda’s Osbourne Plant in South Australia. Three Industrial metal detection machines are being used on the client bulk filling lines to ensure against metal contamination of their processed products.
The Port Adelaide branch of Accuweigh supplied and commissioned two drop through metal detectors for inspecting soda ash and sodium bicarbonate being filled into bulk-bags at a rate of 20t per hour.
To ensure high accuracy metal detection rates are achieved and maintained, both drop through metal detectors are fitted with an inbuilt test piece insertion slot to enable metal test peices to be passed through the metal detector scanning apetures during the client’s regular quality assurance test procedures.
The third of the industrial metal detection machines is an inline metal detector used for scanning bagged product of 15kg to 25kg capacities at rates of 10 bags per minute. This metal detector unit has a scanning aperture of 600mm x 400mm and is fabricated in stainless steel.
