A weighing system was recently installed onto an existing hopper for weighing nuts received at Macadamia Australia’s processing plant at Dunoon in Northern New South Wales.

Supplied by Accuweigh ’s QWM branch in Brisbane, the weighing system included a digital weight indicator, heavy duty load cells and associated load cell mounting hardware.

The client modified the hopper’s legs to accept the 4 x 2t heavy duty load cells and mounting kits which were then rigidly attached to the concrete slab.

To complete the weighing system, the load cell cables were terminated into a summing box and a cable connected to the digital weight indicator to generate the weight readings.

With a weighing capacity of 6,000kg using divisions of 2kg, the weighing system is certified for Trade Use to allow local growers to be paid for the weight of nuts received for processing.

A serial printer is connected to the weight indicator for printing hard copies of delivery details.
