Accuweigh 's Adelaide branch recently installed a truck weighbridge at the Berth 29 Precinct at Flinders Port in South Australia to be used for monitoring the volume of product being loaded and unloaded from ships using the new port area.
This concrete deck truck weighbridge measures 28m in length and is suitable for weighing B Double trucks in a single weighing transaction.
An above ground truck weighbridge was installed as it is the most cost-effective weighbridge design, provided there is a large area of land available to cater for the long approach and departure ramps required for truck access.
The commissioned truck weighbridge also includes a driver control station to allow truck drivers to enter the basic load details without the need for a local weighbridge operator to perform truck weighing duties.
All data collected is relayed back to the port office over 2km from the weighbridge using a combination of fibre-optic cable and wireless networking to allow office staff to remotely control the operation of the driver control station and to generate reports and tickets containing all vehicle transactions over the weighbridge.
