Accuweigh recently supplied a set of IP69K washdown scales to Christen Hansen Pty Ltd for use in their Royal Park plant in South Australia.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch, the IP69K rating ensures these weighing scales can be used in washdown applications using both high pressure and high temperature liquids.
The buyer required the IP69K scales to eliminate the ingress of corrosive agents into the indicators and not for their ability to be hosed under high pressures. The ingress of corrosive liquids was impacting the performance of the previously installed scales causing frequent breakdowns.
A portable data logger was also supplied and configured to capture details of weighing on the washdown scales for downloading to a remote PC for QA purposes.
Marine grade 316 stainless steel has been used for the frame and base of Accuweigh’s AWS IP69K washdown scales. A hermetically sealed load cell also eliminates external corrosion by active food enzymes in use at this application.
Accuweigh’s washdown scales are available in various IP ratings including the highest industry rating of IP69K, which allows the equipment to withstand high pressure water streams from any angle to 1450 PSI and at water temperatures up to 80ºC.
Accuweigh is a leading Australian industrial weighing equipment company and operates branches in all mainland states to provide nationwide backup support.
