The QWM branch of Accuweigh Bagging, Packaging and Palletising Equipment in Brisbane recently upgraded a bagging system for Riverina Stockfeeds’ Oakey plant near Toowoomba. The bagging system was fitted with the latest Allen Bradley PLC to manage all control and logic operations of the bag filling and bag sewing lines.
The QWM manufactured bagging system was originally sold to Riverina in the early 90’s and has performed nearly 15 years of bagging operations without a glitch until the aging PLC fitted to the bagging system started failing recently. The PLC was replaced by an AB Micro Logix 1200 PLC after a thorough review of the condition of the bagging system proved very favourable.
QWM’s bagging system is a dual auger fed net weigher and is used for bagging cotton seed. This bagging system is now expected to last through many more years of bagging operations as a result of the PLC upgrade.
