The Brisbane branch of Accuweigh Bagging, Packaging and Palletising Equipment recently commissioned a bag in box filler for Gourmet Garden’s Palmwoods Operation on Queensland’s North Coast. The bag in box filler is used to package food products into large bags for use by restaurants and catering companies.
The bag in box filler is controlled by a scale base connected to a Rinstrum 5100 batch controller using fast/slow filling stages for increased throughput while maintaining high filling accuracies. Operator places empty bag in boxes on the scale, connects it to the filling nozzle and then presses the start button. The batch controller automatically tares the scale display and initiates the filling process.
The bag in box filler has the ability to store all individual batch records including target weights, achieved weight, error deviation, batch number and operator ID. At the end of each shift, full details of product throughput including number of bags filled and total product used can be printed or exported.
Gourmet Garden patented a unique process to capture and store fresh chopped herbs and spices under refrigeration to allow them to be packaged fresh, rather than using cooking or drying procedures which diminish the flavour and the value of nutrients.
