The Melbourne branch of received an order to supply and install a turnkey bagging system for Prestige Concreting Additives at Carrum Downs in Melbourne.
The turnkey bagging system comprised a screw conveyor, ribbon mixer/blender, bag filler and auto bag closer.
According to Prestige Concreting Additives, they needed an additional mixing, blending and bagging system dedicated to handling products for a contract they recently received.
The turnkey bagging system is designed to screw convey free flowing dry sand from an existing silo to the ribbon mixer mounted on load cells, which will weigh 1500kg of sand mixed with an additive.
The turnkey bagging system then automatically discharges the premixed weighment into an inclined screw conveyor to the bagger supply hopper.
Once the mixer has discharged, the turnkey bagging system automatically commences another weigh cycle, while the previous blended batch is weigh filled into 20kg open mouth bags at a rate of six (6) bags per minute through an Accupak GB50 gross weight bagging machine.
The filled bag is released onto the moving bag closing conveyor to the Newlong bag sewing system. The turnkey bagging system comprises a sewing pedestal, in-feed device and sewing head for automatic start, stop and cut of the cotton chain thread.
Accuweigh’s turnkey bagging system includes digital weigh indicators, Allen-Bradley PLC, soft start controllers and electrical controls.
