Time clock console from Accentis

Accentis Time Clock
Accentis has recently released a time clock console, which is a live, networked time-in-attendance recording system that enables the staff to record when they arrive and leave the workplace and when they start or stop any given task.
Working in harmony with the Payroll, Manufacturing and Job costing modules, the Accentis Time Clock can be interfaced to a range of barcode, touchscreen, biometric or radio-frequency identification (RFID) peripherals to produce a robust, efficient yet simple to use time-in-attendance recording system.
Accentis Time Clock is a barcode-driven touch screen clock-in/clock-out console facility that takes the place of the traditional manually entered time-clock.
This facility is fully integrated into timesheets, jobs and work orders so that employees can clock on and off jobs, work orders, job cost centres and work order routes.
Designed for shop floor situations the major strength of the time sheet console is the ability to collect and allocate time spent on every route sequence. This means there is reporting on not just employee times but also machine usage, idle times and efficiencies.
Because it is fully integrated within the manufacturing routing system, the console enables seamless data flow between users starting and stopping sections of a work order and the manufacturing control and reporting facilities.
Auto refreshing reports drawing data from the time clock console give production managers a real time view of what stages work orders and job are at.
Although a time sheet system has been integral to the software for many years, it still required a person to enter timesheet information. With the Accentis Time Clock, the savings in labour alone are significant. This example was taken from a shop fitting client:
This company has 41 staff of which 30 manually write up daily timesheets. Employees note hours worked for each job they work on along with clock on / clock off times.
On a daily basis these timesheets were collated and checked by Michelle, the admin assistant. Michelle typically takes 25 minutes to enter timesheet data into the payroll system. Each Wednesday the payroll officer, Jenny checks the overall times and confirms pay rates and amounts for each employee, then initiates a pay run. Jenny spends 2.5 hours for this task.
Ami's hourly cost is $23/hr and Jenny's hourly cost is $28.50.
If it is expanded
- $23/hr x 25 minutes x 5 days = $47.91 per week for Michelle
- $28.50/hr x 2.5 hours = $71.25 per week for Jenny
That's a total cost of $119.16 per week x 52 weeks = $6,196.32 per year.
With the implementation of two time clock consoles Jenny ended up spending only 1 hr 15 minutes each week on a pay run, so the true saving worked out to be $4,344. When the time savings were then collated for shop floor employees, Jenny estimated overall annual cost reduction was close to $15,400.
These numbers are small, however, it is the attention to those hidden inefficiencies that end up making big differences to the bottom line.
Accentis continues to add features to the software that help make companies more efficient, save money and add real value to the business.
