AWMA has assisted Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) in a three stage project to provide lake level control for flood mitigation of the Boobegan Creek Weir and Loch.

Located at Clear Island waters on the Gold Coast, AWMA LayFlat gates were required to reduce the time period of lowering the upstream lake level.

Initially, original drop-bars were replaced with 3 AWMA LayFlat gates, under manual actuation. A couple of months later, all 3 gates were automated to a central control cabinet on-site.

The full turn-key service for this project was provided by AWMA including, site visits, project management, design/drafting, manufacture, install and electrical.

In the near future they require 2 additional LayFlat gates to be installed and linked into the existing automated control system.

AWMA infrastructure and software allows for straightforward extensions and upgrades of works including S.C.A.D.A. networking.
