In line with modernisation requirements,
AWMA have developed a replacement for the Dethridge wheel, which is fitted to both open channels and pipelines. AWMA’s FloTrol meter emplacement achieves a full range of flows from 1.5 to 47 ML/day with certified accuracy. High flow rates allow better management of soil penetration and improve plant uptake of water.
A benefit of the FloTrol is that high ground can be watered efficiently, as the emplacement delivers up to 24ML/d with a 50mm head, differential from upstream to downstream levels.
According to AWMA General Manager, Brett Kelly, the FloTrol meter emplacement gives irrigators a choice in metering options for current and future farm management. The modular design of the FloTrol allows for configuration including the simple replacement of existing Dethridge wheels through to direct connections with automated pipe and riser systems.
Designed to benefit both irrigators and water suppliers, the FloTrol emplacement can be managed manually on-site or via full automation. Fully automated units allow for on-line water ordering and irrigation scheduling without the requirement of an outlet.
The FloTrol trash screen deflects debris from entering the meter and stops livestock or children getting trapped in the emplacement.
