Sustainable coding solutions and intelligent solvers that minimise eco impact will be showcased at AUSPACK 2009 . New lasers to be showcased during the AUSPACK 2009 offer sustainable coding solutions without the cost of consumables.
The new Markem-Imaje laser range series does not require external cooling or refrigeration and can work continuously at temperatures up to 35°C, making them energy efficient and sustainable, therefore lowering the cost of operation.
The modular scribing CO2 lasers deliver permanent and quality product coding (text, variable data, logos, 1D and 2D bar codes.) The 30 watt version is suitable for 1 to 5-line applications at high speeds and the 10 watt version is suitable for 2-line applications with logo or barcode.
The 7031 laser is designed for demanding production environments. This high power vector technology is suitable for printing onto substrates such as inked paper, painted metals or glass in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries.
KHS Pacific will also exhibit at AUSPACK 2009. According to KHS Pacific, they provide turnkey plants and individual machine for food, non food and beverages. KHS Pacific supply packaging systems for the dairy industry, including bottling plants, tub fillers, cup filling, cheese cutting, wrapping, pouching, case packers, palletisers and bulk packaging.
KHS Pacific observe that in beverages, they manufacture and supply individual machines for filling, sealing, labelling, packing and palletising of glass and PET bottles, cans and kegs for all types of beverages, including beer, spirits, wine, soft drinks, mineral water and juices. KHS Pacific also manufacture and design machines for PET bottles and shapes including stretch blow moulding, barrier coating and aseptic filling.
Matthews Intelligent Identification will exhibit the new Linz 6900 solver CIJ printer, which provides intelligent solvent usage, lowering cost of ownership and minimising eco impact. The Linx 6900 solver CIJ printer has been added to the existing Linx 6900 continuous inkjet (CIJ) range.
The Linx 6900 solver CIJ printer uses a new ink system and specifically created software to ‘think as it inks’. The software measures how much ink is being returned from the print-head through the gutter line in real time, and the solver's ink system adjusts the amount of suction applied to the gutter, according to how much ink is being returned. This means the printer always provides enough suction to clear the gutter. Optimised suction reduces airflow in the gutter line, which in turn reduces solvent evaporation.
The Linx 6900 solver CIJ printer uses less solvent and reduces the environmental impact of coding. Raw material processing, packaging and transportation requirements are reduced. Less solvent is evaporated into the atmosphere, so there is less smell, and the Linx 6900 solver CIJ printer solvents are non-toxic, offering environmental benefits than other coders.
According to Matthews Intelligent Identification, they have launched new products at AUSPACK 2009 including RFID labelling equipment back in 2001, through to fibre YAG laser coders, which were awarded Best New Product at AUSPACK 2007.“This year’s AUSPACK theme is ‘The Future of Packaging and Processing’.
