AUSPACK 2009 , a biennial packaging and processing machinery, materials and associated technology exhibition, opened at Sydney Showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park. Companies showcasing new products during AUSPACK 2009 are Proud Solutions, Rhima, SAiMO, DB Schenker, Shell Cassida, Strapex, Tangible Packaging, Tna Solutions, ULMA and Visy Automation.
Proud Solutions supply weighing, grading and packing equipment and at AUSPACK 2009 they will present the latest releases of technological advancement. On display will be Odenberg Engineering who manufactures the Titan range of quality grading and size sorting equipment for both fresh and processed produce. One of the Gillenkirch2009 Masters range of baggers suitable for delicate produce are also on demonstration.
Rhima will exhibit washing equipment for food manufacturers with the latest European washing technology, which has not been seen in Australia, delivering water and energy savings and reducing production costs. Rhima’s equipment washes anything from crates and pallets to bins (mega, wheelie), racks and containers through to baking trays and chocolate moulds to salamis and lobsters. Participants can visit Rhima’s stand to see the latest in automatic conveyor crate washers.
SAiMO will provide customers with total packaging solutions, from the initial step to complete automation, including metal detectors and checkweighers. SAiMO's complete Flexible Packaging line for dry and wet products includes, multihead weigher, VFFS vertical form fill seal machine (bagger), discharge conveyor, metal detector, checkweigher and turn table. Also on display will be SAiMO's linear weigher that represents the first stage towards automation and SAiMO's freestanding and semi-automatic Linear Weigher unit. Information about SAiMO's complete Bulk Packaging line for powders, grains and granules up to 50kg per bag will also be available.

Tangible Packaging are dedicated to provide high quality packing and printing solutions. Their quality of products and broad capacity ensures that they can cater to the rapidly growing market demand. Samples will be available on their stand of the Tangible Packaging range including PE heavy duty bags, self-standing bags, air bags, bubble wrap, non-woven bags, shopping bags, gift bags and boxes, packing straps and PET film.
Tna Solutions will showcase the Robag3fx and the Roflo 3, the Robag 3fx is a VFFS packaging system that provides high speed on the market. The wastage rates of Robag 3fx are as low as 0.5%, fast batch changeover and a broader choice of formats including pillow, gusseted, quattropack, block bottom, string, sachet, euroslot/round hole, and multipack. The Roflo 3 is a servo driven, totally reversible, gateless and completely modular food transfer and distribution system that offers a gentle and linear motion, which eliminates product damage and flavour loss.
ULMA will be launching the new NORDIC horizontal flow wrapping machine designed for the meat and cheese industry. Available in both MAP and shrink versions, the new NORDIC offers a flexible, easy to use format for all MAP and non-MAP flow wrapping applications. The high level of wash down protection accompanied by its hygienic design makes the NORDIC suitable for local processing conditions. ULMA will also display the SUPRA Thermoformer and the SCORPIUS Tray sealing machines.
Visy Automation will offer total packaging solutions, cost reduction, flexibility and line efficiency. As manufacturing costs become a critical part of business success, Visy will be displaying solutions to help to reduce costs across the manufacturing process. A Hartness Dynac, which is designed to keep critical pieces of equipment on a manufacturing line running at their peak, will also be showcased. Two sustainability products from Hartness will also be demonstrated. Douglas Machine will also join Visy for a second time, with Gary Zimmer available to discuss the range of case and tray packers available.
