HITTITE Microwave Corporation, represented by ASD Technology in Australia and New Zealand, has announced the introduction of two new SMT MMIC mixers and a medium power amplifier for applications in microwave radios, sensors and test equipment from 6 to 31GHz.

Providing exceptional wideband performance, the HMC144LC4 is a high IP3 double-balanced MMIC passive mixer which can be used as an up or down converter from 6-20GHz. Broadband operation and 35dB LO to RF isolation are provided by on-chip baluns, which require no external components or dc bias.

The HMC264LC3B is a 21-31GHz sub-harmonically pumped (x2) MMIC mixer with an integrated LO amplifier. The 2LO/RF isolation, at 30dB, eliminates the need for additional filtering.

The HMC264LC3B operates from a single +3 or +4V bias, and requires only -4 to +4dBm of LO drive. The RF and LO ports are dc blocked and matched to 50 Ohms for ease of use while the IF covers dc to 6GHz.

Combining high gain and linearity, the HMC498LC4 is a high dynamic range GaAs PHEMT MMIC medium power amplifier. Operating from 17-24GHz, the amplifier provides 22dB of gain and +26dBm of saturated power at 23% PAE.

Noise figure is 4dB while output IP3 is +36dBm enabling the HMC498LC4 to function as a low noise front end as well as a driver amplifier.

Housed in leadless "Pb free" SMT packages, samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock and can be ordered on line. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
