HITTITE Microwave Corporation, represented by ASD Technology in Australia and New Zealand, has introduced six new wideband connectorised amplifier modules which are ideal for military, space, test and measurement, telecom, and microwave radio applications from 0.01 to 27GHz.
The HMC-C023 and the HMC-C026 are wideband power amplifier modules which operate from 2 to 20GHz and deliver +26dBm of output P1dB. The HMC-C026 also features 3dB noise figure at midband, and a high 29dB of gain, allowing it to replace two or more amplifier stages in applications which require higher gain.
The HMC-C016, HMC-C017 and HMC-C022 are wideband low noise amplifier modules with frequency coverage from 2 to 27GHz. These wideband LNAs offer noise figures as low as 2dB, and up to 22dB of gain and +18dBm of output P1dB.
For applications which require operation to lower frequencies, the HMC-C024 wideband driver amplifier module is rated from 10MHz to 20GHz. This versatile driver amplifier delivers 15dB gain, 3dB noise figure and +23dBm of output P1dB.
The HMC-C024 also exhibits ±2 degrees of deviation from linear phase, and a saturated output voltage of 10V peak to peak, making it ideal for OC192 fibre optic LN/MZ modulator driver applications.
The RF I/Os of each of these hermetic modules are internally matched to 50 Ohms, and internally dc blocked for added protection. Removable SMA connectors are provided to facilitate mating with standard coaxial cable assemblies, or the connectors can be quickly detached for direct connection of the module’s I/O pins to a microstrip or grounded coplanar printed circuit board.
Integrated dc voltage regulators allow for flexible biasing of both the negative and positive supply inputs, while internal bias sequencing circuitry assures robust operation.
Each of these amplifier modules is unconditionally stable, rated for operation from -55°C to +85°C, and can be assembled and screened for military and space applications.
