HITTITE Microwave Corporation, represented by ASD Technology in Australia and New Zealand, has released seven GaAs MMIC I/Q mixers aimed at VSAT, microwave radio, test equipment, sensor and military applications from 6GHz to 23.6GHz.

The HMC526, HMC527 and HMC528 GaAs MMIC I/Q Mixer die offer IF bandwidth of up to DC-3.5GHz, conversion loss as low as 7.5dB, and Input IP3 as high as +30dBm.

As a result of their monolithic construction, the HMC526, HMC527 and HMC528 provide LO to RF isolation of up to 50dB, and image rejection as high as 40dB, making them suitable for microwave radio and sensor applications from 6GHz-16GHz.

For applications where a surface mount package is preferred, the HMC521, HMC523, HMC525 and HMC526 are available in RoHS-compliant, leadless 4mmx4mm SMT packages.

The HMC521LC4, HMC523LC4, HMC525LC4 and HMC526LC4 GaAs MMIC I/Q mixers provide RF/LO coverage from 4GHz to 23.6GHz with DC-3.5GHz IF bandwidth, and Input IP3 as high as +28dBm.

Image rejection and LO to RF isolation are up to 40dB and 50dB respectively, while each of the mixers can be configured for either Image reject or single sideband upconverter applications.

Compared to discrete implementations, the SMT-packaged I/Q MMIC Mixers offer reduced PCB area, more consistent performance, and excellent amplitude and phase balance.

Each of the mixers is fabricated on a mature, reliable and production-qualified high-volume GaAs MESFET process.
