HITTITE Microwave Corporation, represented by ASD Technology in Australia and New Zealand, has announced the release of a new high IP3 dual downconverter RFIC.
It is designed for use in virtually all wireless infrastructure applications in the 1700-2200MHz band, including those based on CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, GPRS and EDGE standards.
The HMC381LP6 is a dual downconverter RFIC operating from 1.7 to 2.2GHz, and delivering +27dBm input IP3. The passive mixer outputs and IF amplifier inputs are adjacently positioned so that an external IF filter can readily be placed in series between them.
The HMC381LP6 provides 9 dB of gain with a typical SSB noise figure of 12dB. The single LO input requires only -4 to +4 dBm of drive, allowing the converter to be driven directly from a synthesizer output.
This highly integrated design supports IF frequencies between 50 and 300MHz, requires no external baluns, and consumes only 260mA from a single +5.0V supply.
The HMC381LP6 is furnished in a leadless 6x6mm QFN surface mount package. Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock and may be ordered on line. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
