The Australian Railway Industry Corporation popularly known as ARIC was formed to encourage export oriented Australian companies connected to the Railway Industry in Australia to organise themselves into a coordinated body so as to maximise the benefits available to them. ARIC and its members are directly supported by Austrade (Australian Trade Commission).
ARIC has been at the forefront of showcasing the capabilities of the Australian railway industry to the world. With members drawn from the Australian Railway Industry as well as Australian railway operators and some observer members who have made significant contribution o the industry ARIC is in a position to deliver quality services.
Some of the objectives of ARIC are maximising its member's capabilities to take part in government grant schemes and improving the funding for research and development that is available to the rail industry. Other objectives of the ARIC include getting additional export incentives for the Rail Industry in Australia. ARIC also encourages and assists small and medium enterprises (SME's) to become exporters of rail services and technologies.
ARIC provides railway management, consulting, engineering services, track construction, maintenance, specialised equipment for construction, signalling, communications, and electrification of rail lines. Railway equipment, component repair and workshop services for railways along with a vast range of rollingstock and their components are available from ARIC.
