AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution (T and D) division has signed an agreement with the Italian company Passoni and Villa, setting forth the legal and financial terms for the purchase of Passoni and Villa.
With 2006 annual sales and approximately 150 employees, Passoni and Villa is a world leading manufacturer of high-voltage bushings. Founded in 1923, Passoni and Villa is present in over 60 countries.
With this acquisition, AREVA T and D will become number three worldwide in this market segment and will significantly increase its manufacturing capacity of bushings.
Once the suspensive conditions have been met, the acquisition process should be completed by the end of March 2007.
