APS - Alternative Printing Services  has expanded the ink supply for its high-resolution marking system, the Apsolute, with ten new alcohol and water based fast-drying inks.

All porous surfaces and some non-porous materials such as varnished cartons, plastic and aluminium foil can be coded with no maintenance or mess with the new range of alcohol and water based inks from APS - Alternative Printing Services.

APS - Alternative Printing Services has significantly expanded their supply of fast-drying inks (inks with a drying time of less than two seconds), allowing their Apsolute thermal inkjet printer to print on a growing range of materials.

The range of coloured fast-drying inks has been increased in order to offer more design options for coding and marking requirements. The colour palette now includes black, blue, green and red alcohol based inks and orange and yellow water-based inks.

In the industrial environment, short drying times of inks are required in order to achieve optimal coding results at high production rates. In addition, adhesion properties on various smooth and porous surfaces, contrast and sharpness of the marking, and various operating characteristics of the inks all play a major role.

Plastics such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or HDPE (high density polyethylene) can be coded with the thermal inkjet printer without any pre or post-treatment. This further increases the number of potential applications for this marking technology.

The Apsolute thermal ink jet printer, with its expanded range of alcohol and water based fast-drying inks, can now also be used for applications where previously only MEK based ink jet printers could be used due to shorter drying times.
