APMS carried out gearbox repairs on 12 industrial gearmotors that had arrived from an overseas location in a poor condition.
APMS completed the rebuilding of 12 units of 160kW industrial gearmotors used in mineral sands conveyors. The Sumitomo Paramax gearmotors with bevel helical drives featured WEG, 315 frame and electric motors.
Requiring complete reconditioning, the industrial gearmotors were brought to the APMS workshops situated at 8 Pentland Road, Salisbury South, SA for complete teardown, assessment of condition and quotation for rebuild to factory specifications with all work to be completed within 30 days.
The 12 industrial gearmotors also needed to be fitted up with backstops and anti-runback devices as a safety measure to prevent loaded conveyors from running back down a decline. The APMS team designed and built carriers for Steiber anti-runbacks and machined the gear/motor housings to adapt them.
APMS offers their expertise in critical industrial gearbox or gearmotor repairs for companies in the mining, industrial, manufacturing or processing segments that use equipment such as conveyors, mixers, stirrers, agitators, separators, filter presses, elevators, pug mills, roll form machines or winches.
