APC Technology has released the NEXCOM EBS 1365-LP6 compact PC, a fan-less industrial computer that measures only 55mm x 177mm x160mm.
The unit has no fans and utilises the low power VIA EDEN 667MHz processor, making it suitable for most applications where space and reliability are key.
The NEXCOM EBS 1365-P6 uses passive cooling technology, so it does not require internal fans or filters to keep the unit cool and free from dust. This suits the unit to environments where long term settling dust is a problem or filters on existing PC systems are clogging and causing overheating.
Its compact form factor makes it easy to mount the unit in cabinets already suffering space constraints.
The unit also has provision for an optional Compact Flash memory module. When fitted instead of a conventional 2.5" hard drive, the unit becomes solid state with no moving parts, suitable for high vibration applications.
The EBS 1365-LP6 could be used for system integrators using PC based HMI, SCADA and NET terminal applications where a small compact reliable PC is required.
It is also suitable for kiosk applications where space and reliability is a concern, vehicle applications when fitted with solid state compact flash drives, POS, dusty environments, military applications and industrial rated Thin Client applications.
EBS 1365-LP6 has a compact design. It has a powder coated construction and can be mounted on a desk or wall.
The PC features an embedded VIA EDEN 667Mhz fan-less motherboard, 256Mb SO-DIMM RAM and a 20GB 2.5" HDD.
Porting includes: 10/100 RJ45 port; keyboard/mouse PS2 port; microphone port; speaker port; DB9 VGA port; one RS232 DB9 Port; one RS232\422\485 DB9 configurable port; and two USB connection ports.
The unit also has a Compact Flash socket and operates off 110-240V ac or, optionally, dc power supply.
