The Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) has named Paul Fowler as its new President.
Together with CEO Shane Infanti and the AMTIL Board, Mr Fowler will lead the Institute’s continuing efforts to provide services around education and training, innovation and market access for Australia’s manufacturing businesses.
Having served more than eight years as Director at Australia’s leading supplier of accessories and workholding solutions, Dimac Tooling in Mulgrave, Victoria, Mr Fowler brings to the job an impressive track record of success. A member of the AMTIL Board since 2008, he succeeds Pat Boland, co-founder and Director of CNC tool and cutter grinder manufacturer ANCA Pty Ltd.
Mr Fowler will lead AMTIL’s operational initiatives in developing and expanding new and existing projects aimed at improving the performance and output of Australia’s advanced manufacturing industry.
Mr Fowler takes over the reins of the manufacturing association at a time when a growing number of companies in Australia are getting involved in major international projects and gearing up to face competition from not only Asia, but also Europe and the US. He commented that the AMTIL Board will direct much of their focus to developing a more strategic and longer-term view towards the changing landscape within the precision manufacturing sector.
According to CEO Shane Infanti, companies that are going to grow in the future are companies that have the latest machine tools, cutting tools, software, etc., and know how to get the best out of them.
Mr Infanti also acknowledged the efforts of AMTIL’s outgoing President Pat Boland over the past two years.
