Now available from AMS Instrumentation and Calibration , the Redpost RPU-300 series electronic temperature recorder replaces the successful RPU-200 series of PU monitors.
The RPU-352 is a special purpose electronic temperature recorder designed to monitor the tunnel pasteurisation process. It has inputs for two temperature probes so that the conditions inside and outside the package can be measured at the same time.
This PU monitor passes through the pasteuriser with the product. After the run, the PU value achieved, together with several other important results, is calculated automatically. Standard results calculated include (but are not limited to):
- total PUs achieved
- time accumulating PUs
- time in holding zone
- maximum values of all channels.
Additionally, all sensor readings are shown continuously allowing the unit to be used as a thermometer. This means the PU monitor prevents product spoilage by calculating the temperature of the product when it leaves the pasteuriser. This exit temperature is shown with the other results.
Results are displayed on the instrument allowing immediate confirmation of correct pasteurisation. The display can show graphs and lists of recorded data, and data can be displayed in a choice of engineering units. Furthermore, the controls on this PU monitor are simple, and the display shows operating prompts and results in a choice of languages.
In fact, many functions of the equipment can be configured to suit particular requirements, and all settings are protected to prevent operators making accidental changes to the configured settings.
The conditions during several runs can be recorded and examined before the data is printed or transferred, allowing end-to-end working without returning to the laboratory.
As the RPU-352 is compatible with Redpost's popular RPC-80 and RPC-50 printer/chargers, reports can be printed or the data can be transferred to a computer for storage and further analysis.
A service reminder gives the operator a notification when a service on the RPU-352 PU monitor should be considered. Calibration details can be held in the instrument to aid record keeping for ISO 9000.
Redpost PU monitors and recorders are available with a range of temperature probes for:
- spray water temperature probes
- mounting frames; and
- test plugs for on-site checking of calibration.
Instruments and probes are calibrated at time of manufacture against standards traceable to U.K National Standards.
